My Own Ignorance

Lyrics and notesWhen I was born, I was born ignorant
as a kid I was the same
In high school as a suburban punk kid
my naivety hadn't changed
And as I write each song with each new thought
I question every word before
I notice ignorance is never missing
in the battles I endure
Every idea that I put down on to paper with this pen
Will be subjected to my criticism time and time again
I'll always write things that are true to me
the truth I feel within
But the language will betray me
and I'll recognize my sin
But sins have never been so negative, I've learned so much from them
That's why I continue to reflect and write and stare into the system
that I cling to as I run away, I thought I'd broke these chains
but I'm still bound to botch ideas and I won't let myself refrain
because I'm proud of my own ignorance
I've found that it is relative to change
For what I knew to be true yesterday might not hold true today
And I will listen to the words I've sung with all my heart before
and move unflinchingly to the future to experience what's in store
and I will steal it all.
