We dream of peace through days of war
imagining a time when our chests hurt no more
when the tears don't well up at the mention of justice
'cause oppression and aggression are no longer practiced

We dream of solidarity through days of isolation
imagining a time when the world is our nation
when the fears of the foreign no longer exist
because we're recognizing all of the similarities we missed

We dream of understanding through days persecution
imagining a time when we behold our evolution
when we listen to each other with our motives laid out clear
cause we've no reason to hide our plans, no reason to fear

We dream all these things through all of our days
when we're lying in bed, while we're dying awake
But we need to continue to act towards these dreams
we must never turn back as hopeless as it may seem

So stand up and scream
Wake them up from their dream
that this world is just a program they watch on their T.V.
Show them that it could be better if we held each others' hands real tight
and break through the fence that they set up to plan our lives out of our sight
And fight for what we know is right
the light that we could not see while we were blinded in the night
