and look what i happen to stumble upon
the door is open
so inviting
beckoning me to come in
the windows are boarded
begging me to come and see
what lies the other side
and i step in
the air smells of must and mold
the debris crunches under my feet
i can see plaster
littering the floor
and i wonder who lived here before?
and why they don't live here anymore
i walk into the next room
and i look around
the roof is caving
the wood is rotting
the paint is peeling
the brick is crumbling away
i see beauty in decay
i see beauty in decay
and as i walk down the street
desolate dilapidation
and brick blackened by industry
and the only sign of life i see
are the sparks flying in the mill ahead of me
and i am infinitely intrigued
this is beauty
such dismal beauty
this is abandoned intrigue
